Hope Series 4

The day for race one is getting closer and we want to see your entries!! This grass roots racing series is back again with the same friendly atmosphere, the same two course format and a genuine welcome for riders novice and elite. Remember this is the cheapest XC series you can enter with some of the best prizes (spot and placing) around all courtesy of our great sponsors.

It ain’t broke so don’t fix it!: Due to the successful formula and the inability to come up with a better idea we are keeping last years format, categories and timings.

Age changes: In line with British Cycling categories our Polaris Bikewear sponsored Lads and Lasses can race if they are 15 or 16 in 2011. If you are 17 or over in 2011 you are in the main categories. Only 14 in 2011? Don’t worry we are working on something for younger riders separate to the main series.

Enter now! You can pre-enter by post (download the form off the website) or online at www.xcracer.com . Big discounts for series entries as usual.

Buff Marshals: as usual we need plenty of people on the day to make sure everything runs safely if you want to be part of the action let us know. Course setup starts at 07:15 and marshals are needed from 08:45, riders can get a free race by helping with course setup. You get really well looked after and our eternal gratitude (and a free Buff (if it’s your first time), food and drink, £50 cash draw and other goodies). Contact info@brownbacksracing.co.uk to let us know you are coming.

New trails: Lancs CC have put in lots of new trails so expect to see new courses for 2011. (Hope it doesn’t rain on Sunday when we go prospecting!).

Qualified/ part qualified BC MTB level 2 coach? We are organising coaching sessions for our Have-a-go Hero/ine series entrants. These are aimed at helping novice riders get into MTB XC racing, interested? If so contact us at xc.racing@virgin.net Qualified/ part qualified BC Level 2 Go Ride coach? If you are interested in a potential MTB XC Level 2 course at Lee Quarry this year please get in contact at info@brownbacksracing.co.uk . You will need to have completed the Level 2 Go Ride qualification or qualify some other way (see BC website regarding eligibility).

The rules! Remember there is no outside assistance allowed, this includes passing your mate bottles/ gels/ food. We have a simple philosophy of self sufficiency and “you start with it you finish with it” so no littering either please.

BC points: There are licence points for our Racers and Racing Diva’s in “Sport” or one of the age related categories. You do not need BC membership or a licence to race, if you do have one, make sure you bring your licence on the day.
