Lancashire County Council is setting up a number of cycle forums across the county. The first meeting of the Rossendale forum will take place this coming Thursday (20th of October) at the Rawtenstall Railway Station Cafe starting at 6pm and finishing at 8pm. According to the forum's terms of reference it's two main aims are:

1. More people

2. Develop Rossendale as one of the leading mountain bike areas in the country. cycling more often in Rossendale, both for transport and leisure, supporting the local economy.

P.M.B.A. will be there to represent the views of the mountain bikers in the region but it does look like mountain biking features fairly highly on the agenda (figuratively and literally). If you have any comments please feel free to email us at contactus@pmba.org.uk and we'll pass your views on at the meeting. The forum should continue to meet 2 to 3 times per year so shouldn't just be a one off. Other forums are planned for other parts of Lancashire, keep an eye on www.lancashire.gov.uk/cycling for more details. Copies of the Terms of Reference and the agenda for this first meeting can be downloaded by clicking the links.

We'll report up here on the outcome of the meeting.
